  • Yes. Its an all-around great camera. There are brands out there that do specific things better, like the Olympus OM-D E-M5 for autofocus and lens selection, and the Fuji X-E1 for image quality. But none can do great video and great stills with such ease...

  • Compact kit lens. Built-in EVF and flash. Sharp, tilting LCD. Excellent high ISO performance. 9fps burst shooting. Standard hot shoe.
  • Slow to start and shoot. Kit lens could be sharper. No dedicated battery charger. Some camera apps cost money
  • The pricey-but-well-rounded Sony Alpha NEX-6 is an excellent camera for mirrorless enthusiasts, but it doesn't quite edge out the entry-level NEX-F3 as our Editors' Choice....

  • A fine shooting design, great photo and good video quality, and excellent performance number among the Sony Alpha NEX-6's strengths
  • The camera lacks the option to save groups of custom settings, a real irritation, and we wish it had a neutral color preset. Plus Sony's wireless implementation is awkward, and the app system is annoying
