  • Abstract:  The flexibility of the constant aperture, coupled with flawless build quality, will mean you will quickly be looking for ways to raise the $1800 needed to add this to your collection. It may just be the best Nikon lens ever made.

  • Abstract:  The Nikkor AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G ED N is a phenomenal lens. It is the sharpest ultra-wide angle lens tested to date. The resolution figures are simply stunning and unprecedented specifically at 14mm and thats straight from the maximum aperture setting....

  • Excellent optical design, build, chromatic aberration control
  • Filters can’t be used, though this is somewhat to be expected
  • It’s not cheap but it’s a hell of a hunk of glass, so expect at least £1,200 on the street. It’s also not the most practical lens, though the 24mm is slightly more sensible. It is a remarkable piece of kit though, and a very desirable op...

  • First, not the focal length. That’s 14-24mm on full-frame, not on the APS-C format. This must be one of the widest rectilinear (i.e. not fisheye) zooms ever made. And that’s not all. Not only does it have an unusually wide maximum aperture for a super-...
