  • The Seagate Central is fast, easy to use, and comes with many options for media streaming, both locally and via the Internet
  • As a single-volume server, the Central offers no data protection should its internal hard drive fail; its remote feature is very sluggish and limited when accessed via a browser
  • The affordable Seagate Central delivers as a fast and easy-to-use network storage device for home backup and entertainment purposes....

  • 4TB capacity in a small enclosure, Remote access worked well, App is easy to use
  • Hard drive is not user replaceable, Somewhat noisy during seek operations, Network cable can be hard to disconnect

  • Abstract:  With the plethora of storage devices currently available, and even some legacy devices (yes, I am referring to floppy disks) that we hold on to long after the technology to access the data has become harder to locate, it is often difficult to track down a...

  • The concept of the Seagate Central is a good one. The hard disk behemoth wanted to develop a user-friendly NAS device, and to keep things manageable for less experienced end-users it kept features to a minimum. If all you want is to share files and be a...

  • Solid structure, Easy setup, Smooth media streaming
  • No data protection ( for internal failure), Limited feature set
  • Seagate Central Shared Storage offers plenty of decent functionality. Most importantly, the drive allows centralizing all the contents at one place, so that you can access the files remotely from anywhere (within the network) though mobile device and web ...

  • Easy to setup and use, Elegant design
  • Goes up to only 4TB of storage, Heats up after extended usage, No RAID
  • Seagate is one of the first few companies to make a network storage device that is easy for home users to utilise. It is quite unfortunate however that it only has up to 4TB of storage space to play around with.(previously published in issue March 2014)...

  • Abstract:  Quick Setup Seeing that this is a single-volume NAS, just know that it doesn't have protection when the hard-drive fails. That aside, this is a very simple device because there's basically nothing when setting up. All you have to do is plug in the power, ...
