  • You can consider yourself lucky if you purchased an SSD last year. Since then not a lot has happened when it comes to the performance, while the prices have gone up. However, using a hard drive as boot disk is not necessary at all - there are more than en...

  • Abstract:  Solid-state storage is standard-issue for storing data in tablets and smartphones, where it's relied upon for its tiny size and rugged nature. Those same virtues can be handy in desktop PCs and especially laptops too, but it's the speed of an SSD (solid-s...

  • Exemplary results in some benchmarks, Reasonably well priced for 500GB, 3-year warranty, Huge TBW rating, Neutral, - Inconsistent results
  • Sequential reads are lacking somewhat
  • In terms of reviewing an SSD, nothing speaks more than the benchmarks. They don't need to look particularly pretty or be incredibly lightweight, they merely need to perform. Our results show some unbelievably strong numbers in PCMark 8 and ATTO but random...

  • Solid performance, Rated to endure plenty of use, Good warranty
  • Doesn't outrun its competitors, No outstanding features
  • The solid state market is very competitive right now, which has led to a plethora of choice. Western Digital's first mid-range SSD is competent, but it also doesn't stand out from the pack.We think the WD Blue's price needs to dip lower before it's the ob...

  • The WD Blue SSD is faster than any regular hard drive and you can write a ton of data to it before it wears out.
  • The drive is expensive and doesn't justify the added cost. It has a short warranty
  • The WD Blue is a decent SSD that may be worth the investment when the price comes down...

  • The WD Blue SSD 1TB offers consistent speeds, but comes in at a a hefty £295 price tag. The drive is overshadowed by its competitors, but nevertheless provides PC builders with more SSD alternatives....

  • Flash technology is still new and a bit too expensive for the regular consumers to buy. But as the technology is getting advanced, we are seeing aggressive pricing of SSD's. WD has offered a great product at a very good price. If you're building a perform...

  • Competitive pricing
  • Price fluctuations make buying decisions harder, Barebones sales package
  • As is evident from WD's packaging, the company would very much like for you to have both, a speedy SSD and a capacious hard drive - preferably ones it is selling. While not always possible due to space or budget constraints, we see why the company decided...

  • Competitive Pricing, Good transfer rates
  • Performance could be better, 3-year warranty
  • At the price point of about INR 6700 (on Amazon), the WD Blue SSD may not be the best performer in the market, but it is definitely one of the more affordable storage solutions. Offering fast transfer rates, it can successfully cater to both gamers and PC...
