  • Good overall performance for the price, Large hard drive, Comfortable to use
  • Keyboard flexes slightly, Poor graphics performance
  • The 14-inch Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820T offers good build quality, decent performance and impressive battery life. That makes it a good bet for those seeking a laptop they can take on their travels....

  • Very impressive battery life: 3h56, A fine overall performer, Nice quality design and finish, Good keyboard and touchpad, Slimline, light, quiet
  • Glossy panel lacks contrast, We would also have liked to see eSATA and USB 3.0
  • The Acer TimelineX will appeal to those who want portability and don't want to compromise on performance and screen size. Long battery life cannot unfortunately make up for the weaknesses of its glossy, poorly contrasted screen which costs it its fifth...

  • The Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG laptop sells for a price of £800 inc VAT with one year international warranty. It is not only thin compared to other 14-inch laptops - like the Dell Studio 14, Dell Inspiron 14R and MSI CX420 - but packs in quite a pun...

  • Abstract:  This I am told will give you 12 hours of battery life, I never got beyond six hours or so, so I assume there are two battery combinations available. I did test it several times hence the slightly longer than normal review period....

  • Abstract:  One year on and Acer's latest Aspire Timeline range has pulled out all the stops to produce an energy-efficient, powerful machine that doesn't quite manage to be a desktop substitute but deserves attention for considerably extending the already impres...

  • Very powerful, Metal-finished lid, Switchable graphics
  • Poor build quality, Graphics switching complicated, No eSATA
  • While there may be some issues surrounding the build quality and graphics switching system on the 4820TG, one thing it does have in abundance is speed. Our model, which has a mooted retail price of £899, goes toe-to-toe with large desktop replacement syst...

  • Intel Core speed and dedicated graphics
  • Poor sound that hamstrings what you can do with the graphical power
  • Has the power to meet most needs, even if you play a lot of films while surfing...

  • Fusion of power and portability, graphics power, trackpad is nice
  • A little too much flex at this price point
  • There are some really nice touches here, but given the price tag of £899, some might want to see a little less flex across the body. But you can't deny that Acer have put together a notebook that is both practical and powerful in this new Timeline X mo...
