  • Abstract:  I'm back in the office on a hybrid work schedule, which means that I once again have to brave the daily commute on the subway three days a week. That means I'll need something to block out the street performers, loud talkers and potential fights on the A...

  • Powerful and portable, Supports many different games and launchers, Armoury Crate SE is well-implemented
  • Windows 11 causes some usability friction, Short battery life
  • A powerful handheld gaming PC, the ROG Ally capably fills the Steam Deck-shaped hole in Australia. If it had a dedicated OS instead of Windows 11, it'd be even better...

  • Solid specs: 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, Supports microSD for more space, 7 inch touchscreen supports 120Hz, Includes Corning's scratchresistant Gorilla Glass, Plenty of controls for gamers who dig buttons, Supports Steam, EA Play, and plenty of modern ga
  • Windows can make the whole thing feel buggy, Some games won't be compatible with the controls at all, Battery life is hit and miss, No stand
  • Despite all of this, there's something about the ROG Ally I've loved. I wasn't expecting to fall for the ROG Ally the way I did, but it really surprised me.Granted, Asus hasn't built the most powerful gaming system, and folks keen on having that should id...

  • Pros, Full-screen Xbox experience makes Windows gaming far less troublesome, Controller grips are a comfort revolution, Largely clears the 720p gaming bar
  • Cons, Outpaced by cheaper Steam Deck on performance, aNo impulse trigger haptics is a shame, Still some software bugs to iron out
  • Microsoft finally getting on board the PC gaming handheld train in an official capacity is great news, and the Xbox ROG Ally is a strong start. Behind-the-scenes work has finally stopped Windows from feeling like a lead weight, and the full-screen Xbox in...

  • More powerful than a Steam Deck,Streamlined and stylish design,Full HD screen is colourful and vibant,Windows 11 is user friendly
  • Expensive compared to competitors,Poor battery life,120Hz screen feels wasted here
  • The Asus ROG Ally is a more powerful alternative to the Steam Deck. It features a superior design and more user-friendly software. That high price is hard to justify, however, especially with the poor battery life. Competition is more fierce now too, with...

  • nice looking design with good build quality, stable temperatures, excellent screen, UI becoming very polished with the latest updates, great performance for what it is, stable temperatures and quiet fans, punchy speakers
  • battery life may not be good enough for some, more expensive than top competition, some buttons and DPad could be better, SD card may still be prone to overheating under Turbo mode
  • The Asus ROG Ally has become a favorite of mine as far as handhelds go. This has the right amount of performance and pairs it well with a nice design, punchy speakers, and a fantastic screen. My start was rocky with it, but the multitude of updates releas...

  • Solid performance, Acceptable battery life, Beautiful, 120Hz screen, Flexible control scheme, Support for basically any PC game
  • Turbo mode drains battery quickly, Windows has a lot of quirks, Armoury Crate is a utility, not an OS
