  • Abstract:  The Harmony 1100 takes the concept of universal remotes further than most. Logitech claims it can recognise 225,000 devices from 5,000 manufacturers, and tests with our home equipment brought no problems. It was set up in 20 minutes via a PC and succes...

  • Smart design and a doddle to use.
  • Not a big improvement over predecessor. Unwelcome price hike
  • A classy and intuitive universal remote, but it all comes at a price ...

  • More responsive than the Harmony 1000; less expensive than many competing tablet models
  • Battery life isn't great; no easy way to use it in more than one room; setting up systems with more than five or six components can become complicated
  • The Logitech Harmony 1100 is an excellent touchscreen universal remote control that corrects most of the shortcomings of its predecessor, the Harmony 1000. Its high price, however, may deter all but the most fanatical of home-cinema enthusiasts ...

  • All good stuff, but is it really worth the best part of £350? Theres no doubt the 1100 does what it promises to do and does it well - especially the ease with which it can be set up. Logitechs control code database is commendably comprehensive. But ...

  • Tablet-style, touchscreen, controls 15 devices; RF-ready; includes rechargeable battery and docking station; Web-programmable and compatible with Windows and Macintosh PCs; less expensive than competing tablet models.
  • RF module is optional; screen drains battery quickly; no easy way to use in different rooms; lacks design and programming flexibility; setting up systems with more than five or six components can get pretty tricky.
