Instant alerts & clear footage, Face recognition works well, Flexible, wire-free installation, Can be used indoors or outdoors,
I do wish the free tier allowed you to go back further in time, since the 3-hour window means you won't be able to view recorded events when you wake up from slumber. The inability to view the camera stream on Chromecast-enabled TVs seems like a big miss...

Nice bright lights with good controls, Quick and free smart alerts, Reliable performance, Option of 24/7 recording ($), Built-in backup battery
Lesser image quality than previous Nest Cams, Subscription plan needed for security use, No siren or useful sound alerts, Poor app implementation, Designed for a horizontal install only

Abstract: We like Google's battery-powered Nest Cam that works indoors or outside, but at $179.99, it's one of the pricier home security cameras out there. Although it isn't quite as versatile, the Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired) offers many of the same features for $99.9...
Lovely-looking hardware, Battery-powered or wired, Easy to mount, Indoor or outdoor use, Almost all of the best features are free, Subscription not required
Settings are often buried or confusing, People detection doesn't work most of the time, Timeline and full history views have issues, Power cable is non-standard, Night vision quality is bad, Three free recording hours is nice but isn't very useful

Arguably the easiest setup in the industry, Attractive industrial design, Can operate on either AC or battery power (or AC with battery backup)
Anemic night vision, Proprietary and too-short power cable, High-priced subscription required to get full value
The new-for-2021 Nest Cam is flexible and powerful, though it's a pricey option once you include the cost of the accessories you might want (not to mention a subscription)...
Lovely sturdy design that can take a beating, Can be used indoors or outdoors, Ondevice processing means images stay with you and aren't shared
Always running and lacks scheduling, While it can identify some things, it doesn't get everything, Free plan offers little in the way of video history, and means you'll almost definitely need to pay a regular fee, Seems more expensive than rivals

Subscription not required, Good floodlight, Records if Wi-Fi goes down
Expensive, Google Home app needs improving for cameras, Limited integration (Google-only)
If you already have Google Nest smart speakers and displays, use the Google Assistant on your phone and can live with the high price (and Google Home app), the Nest Cam with Floodlight does a decent job.Video quality is fine and the floodlight works well...
