  • Undeniably stylish; joystick navigation.
  • Optical image stabilization doesn't really work; worst 1080i footage quality; bad contrast.

  • Hard drive stores five hours of video. Works with external mics. Nice manual focus ring.
  • Expensive. Notsosharp imagery. Bad image stabilization. No headphone jack. Footage hard to edit in Final Cut. Not fully iMovie ’08 compatible.
  • We love the HD7’s roomy hard drive, but the camera’s sky-high price and subpar image quality should make you think twice before buying. If you plan to edit video in anything other than iMovie HD 6, we’d recommend skipping the Everio HD G...

  • Overall, JVC's GZ-HD7E is a very capable camcorder but until more applications support editing, its output will remain one for the gadget-hungry consumer rather than more serious enthusiasts....

  • Good, not great video quality Five-hour capacity (best resolution) Excellent manual options Attractive form factor
  • No AF Assist lamp, flash or light Offloading and storing HD video Expensive
  • As a fan of HDD and high-def camcorders, I really wanted to like this one a lot. Its form factor and control layout are excellent. The manual adjustments take this up a big notch compared to competitors. And the amount of storage is amazing. That said,...
