High bitrate recording and a bunch of extra features like GPS make this Sony's best Action Cam so far, with good still image and audio quality added to the mix. A new tally light on the top of the camera makes it easy to see when you're recording
The live view remote can't be used for photo or video playback, and a microSDXC card is needed for high bitrate recording. Exposure during regular 28Mbps video recording is uneven, while water tends to cling to the front of the waterproof case
Built-in image stabilization and high bitrate recording make this Sony's best Action Cam yet, but there are still a few usability quirks remaining....

Camcorder is shockand splashresistant without its waterproof casing, Good sensitivity levels for lowlight filming, Pro mode with time code, Effective digital stabilisation, Builtin WiFi, NFC, GPS, Decent battery life, Auto white balance does a good job, 4
Connections on the camera's underside: not accessible with the camera on a tripod, Image is a little soft compared with certain competitor models, Basic LCD with no backlighting, Can't take a still photo while filming, No 4K video mode
The Sony's image quality is generally excellent, and more or less comparable to the GoPro Hero 3+ Black. Many people will prefer the punchier colors out of the box. Battery life is fan-freakin-tastic, coming in at two hours and forty minutes of consecutiv

Ultimately, we still lean toward the GoPro. Image quality is more or less comparable (each has its strengths), and while audio quality isnt as good on the GoPro, its still really quite good. More to the point, though, is that the GoPro is far more water...
