  • Excellent image quality. Design refinements from previous model. Control ring is lots of fun. Bright f/2.0 lens
  • Performance still isn't best in class. Only basic GPS implementation. Battery could last longer
  • Canon has given its top-end pocket camera a nip and tuck to make it shine even brighter than before. The S100 is a proficient do-it-all camera with a range of features like GPS to keep photographers happy....

  • Abstract:  This little black offering fits into the smallest pocket but can take HD video as well as rather nice still images. Even if you have a larger and more powerful unit, this can be ready even before that comes from the bag....

  • The PowerShot S100 is an excellent camera delivering image quality which exceeded my expectations. This, combined with superb handing, control and features justifies the S100 as a serious shooter, despite its size. It’s certainly expensive, but in the...

  • Full range of manual controls, SLRfeel construction yet pocket sized proportions
  • The most expensive compact on test, unimpressive battery life
  • Under the bonnet is a choice of either 1,920 x 1,080 video clips with stereo sound, or slow-motion ‘movies' recorded at either 240fps or 120fps, plus at the other end of the scale 9.6fps stills at full resolution for action photography. In practice the mo...

  • For a camera so small, the Powershot S100 takes some cracking photos. Considering you can fit the thing in the smallest of pockets it isn’t half decent. Images are bright, vivid, full of colour and noise-free. Great ISO control lets you snap some terrific photos in most lighting conditions. The Powershot S100 also excels in capturing high-speed photo stills and top quality high definition video c
  • The price for a dainty camera capable of taking superb photos and recording high quality video comes at a cost to battery life. The Canon Powershot S100’s battery life will wane after just a full days shooting. You’ll still be able to snap close to 200 shots, having recored video, but you’ll still need to keep your charger handy on short trips.
  • We make no bones about it. The Canon S100 is a superb camera let down slightly by its battery life that although short, will still get you through the day. Besides the minor stamina problem the Canon S100 excels in both photo and video, and is definite...
