  • 7x optical zoom, sturdy, 11 frames-per-second burst mode
  • Lens isn’t wide enough, images are somewhat soft, scroll wheel and camera shape take some getting used to
  • The CoolPix S630 isn’t one of Nikon’s best digital cameras. With sub-par image quality and an unconventional shape, it fails to be anything other than halfway decent. Still, if you’re in need of a powerful optical zoom and a versatile co...

  • 7x optical zoom in a compact body, Fast 11 frames per second burst mode
  • No wide-angle optics, Seems to dislike people with glasses, Noise issues
  • The S630 is a decent compact camera if you need speedy burst shooting in a small body with 7x optical zoom. Apart from that, theres little else to recommend this camera considering the disappointing image quality and expensive asking price. ...

  • Very good colour, contrast, sharpness at ISO 64200, Very versatile 37260mm zoom lens, Plenty of automation plus essential overrides
  • idering the modest price, this camera deserves my Best Value award in the 12megapixel category.

  • With a recommended price tag of almost £300, the Nikon Coolpix S630 is no budget offering, but when compared with other models in the same price bracket, it doesn’t offer a great deal more. Sure, you get a 7x optical zoom, but we think a model...

  • Abstract:  The Nikon Coolpix S630 is a 12 megapixel digital camera with a 7x optical zoom lens. This is more zoom that most small digital cameras offer. The Coolpix S630 offers image stabilisation and a 2.7 inch LCD screen. Why Buy the Nikon Coolpix S630?The main...

  • A stylish compact that is capable of producing sharp results and is easy to operate. Perhaps pitching slightly above its weight in terms of price tag, but when the price drops this will be a good investment for consumers wanting better quality images....

  • Anti-blur ability. Comfy to hold. Impressive 7x optical zoom
  • Iffy accuracy on colours. Zoom sticky during use. Only standard-def movies
  • Impressive anti-blur modes and a smart 7x optical zoom, but washed out colours hold it back ...

  • Abstract:  In moments of uncontrolled vanity, I sometimes delude myself into believing that what I say about camera design in my reviews somehow has an effect on the people who actually design them. One thing I have droned on about at some length is the idea that ca...

  • Definition is suprisingly good at low ISOs; 7x optical zoom is good in a camera of this size; sports fans may be tempted by the 11fps shooting
  • Average lens quality; picture quality drops off rapidly as the ISO goes up; face-detection modes are muddled and only partially effective; cramped controls
  • The Nikon Coolpix S630's specs may be mouth-watering, but real-world shooting quickly reveals the limitations of its technology. While the S630 looks nice, its controls are cramped and awkward, making the camera doubly disappointing. The technology mi...
