  • There are plenty of style-orientated digital compacts out there, so Nikon has its work cut out in trying to make an impact, especially as, slightly awkward to control ‘controller’ aside, everything about the solid-feel, metal build Coolpix S70...

  • Abstract:  It's probably fair to say that of the 12-megapixel compact cameras that I've reviewed so far, I haven't found many that I liked. Most have had distinctly sub-standard image quality, nearly all of them are are overpriced , and even the few relatively good ...

  • 12.1 megapixels in a small, sturdy package;, Manual controls for ISO and exposure;, Plenty of flexible photo and video options.
  • Images can be a bit noisy, even at ISO 400;, JPEG rendering in playback mode is slow;, Image sensor shift for vibration reduction rather than optical lens shift.
  • Nikons S700 is their 12 megapixel flagship slim point and shoot model, and it packs a lot of value for under $275 USD. How does it measure up in day to day use?

  • Nice looking highISO shots, Superb image sharpness, Warm, pleasing flash shots, Ease of use,
  • Consistently slow AF, Lessthansmooth display, Build quality flimsy in places,
  • While the Coolpix S700 is certainly not perfect, there's a lot to like about this camera. Image sharpness and overall quality are truly impressive, the camera exposes and renders colors well, and ease of use is very good. Slowness in some areas proves ...

  • Good color Accurate white balance Great 12MP resolution Generous internal memory Handy help guide
  • Poor low light performance High noise levels and poor dynamic range at ISO 1600 and 2000 Noise reduction smooths over details Spotty flash 37-111mm zoom range
  • The Nikon Coolpix S700 keeps the megapixel competition alive with its 12.1 megapixels and 1/1.72-inch image sensor. It performed well in our resolution tests, but will most photographers that use this camera actually print posters and take advantage of...

  • Good colour balance, noise low until ISO 400, very low shutter lag
  • Shots not always as crisp as wed like, some haloing, quite pricey The Final Word Nikons S700 isnt an incredible compact camera, but it does the job combining good pictures with a reasonable feature set, which will be fine for most consumers.

  • Abstract:  Nikons Coolpix S700 has many of the same features as the Coolpix S510 model - including the EXPEED image processor - but sports a higher-resolution (12.1 megapixels effective) image sensor and larger LCD monitor. Its zoom lens covers a marginally long...
