  • Superb overall picture quality, Low-noise images even at high ISOs, Very fast start-up time with no shutter lag, Water- and dust-resistant
  • Expensive even for its class, Steep learning curve, No in-camera image stabilization, Erratic 3D Focus Tracking system
  • If you’re serious about photography and don’t mind spending extra money to upgrade to a serious DSLR, the Nikon D300 is about the best investment you can make. While the 10.1-megapixel Canon EOS 40D and the 12.2-megapixel Sony Alpha A700 are g...

  • 90 One of the surest ways to tell that the digital SLR camera market has reached a fair level of maturity is to observe the shelf-life of current models. Five years ago, camera manufacturers replaced models at least once a year, and in some cases, even...

  • Abstract:  As I've remarked before, I get to see and use a lot of digital cameras in the course of my job, from the cheapest budget compacts to the very best professional DSLRs. As a life-long camera nerd I couldn't be happier with this arrangement, but there is a d...

  • Excellent performance and photo quality; solidly built; extremely flexible custom settings architecture; onboard wireless flash controller.
  • A bit too expensive, given the competition.
  • Visibly better photo quality and slightly improved performance make the Nikon D300 a significant upgrade over the D200 and an excellent all-around choice.

  • Despite the fact that the Nikon D300 requires a fair bit of familiarisation to make use of all its on-board features – simply because there are so many functions you can tweak and customize to the nth degree – if required you can be up and sho...

  • Excellent image quality and excellent ergonomics, excellent design and control layout, very good menu system with “Help” feature, good combination of usability, control and custom modes, value for money.
  • Slight issues over white balance control, modest continuous shooting frame rate, otherwise not much else.
  • A simply stunning new Nikon with performance and handling panache at its core, if you’re in the game for new D-SLR and this Nikon takes your fancy, you should already be reaching for your wallets. Login or register to post comments Digital Cameras ca...
