  • Enormous image sensor blows open the door to some of the finest 12.3megapixel images weve produced yet. Nikons topoftheline highres 3inch LCD is prettier than looking at a supermodel with beer goggles. Incamera dust reduction is spot on at removing spots...
  • Only manual focus in the video mode. Seriously, this is really the only problem we had with the D90 and even that was a stretch. Additional photos taken with the D90 by Jackson Lynch [age unknown] and Lola Lynch [age 4]. See the D90 is so simple to use ev...

  • Excellent photo quality; superb high ISO performance, Well built, easy to hold, Dust reduction system, Large, super high resolution 3inch LCD display, Full manual controls, and then some, Snappy performance (though see exception below), Dedicated AFass...
  • Poor RAW image editing software included; remote control software costs another $150, Very slow focusing in live view mode; manual focus enlargement not sharp; poor visibility in low light, Flimsy door over memory card slot, Focusing in movie mode take...
  • The last Nikon digital SLR I reviewed was the D60, and to be honest, it didnt do much for me. My impression of the D90 is the total opposite: it blew me away. In terms of photo quality, manual controls, performance, customizability, and yes, its movie...

  • Abstract:  Building on the incredible critical acclaim of its D80 camera, Nikon is set to add a new model to its D-SLR line. After nearly two years in development, the Nikon D90 is finally ready for release, and it will be the first Nikon D-SLR model to support v...

  • The D90 is a trophy of a middleweight camera, with the D-movie HD video mode tagging on an extra medal or two. No other DSLR in the world has a video feature to match; which no doubt opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

  • Abstract:  I personally buy from Adorama, Amazon, Ritz, B&H and J&R. The Nikon D90 replaces the D80 from 2006 as Nikons mid-line DSLR. The Nikon D90 is a D80 with Live View, ADR, an almost 3-D 3" LCD and can shoot movies. Forgive me if I go off on a tangent a...

  • Abstract:  Almost exactly two years after the D80 was announced comes its replacement, the rather predictably named D90. The D80 has been one of Nikons quiet successes, and even today, despite being positively Methuselah-like in digital camera terms it continu...

  • Abstract:  D-Movie ModeWhen a new product is launched, you expect new features - usually in the form of minor upgrades. But with the D90, theyre not all marginal improvements, and one of them in particular is ground-breaking. Nikon is the first to bring to marke...

  • Abstract:  The D90 was a bit late. Normally we expect 18 month update cycles for the consumer DSLRs and this time we had 24 months between the D80 and D90. Given that the other changes in the camera are relatively modest, one would have to guess that the big holdup was the addition of video...

  • Abstract:  Last week I made the upgrade from the Nikon D80 to the new Nikon D90. The D90’s claim to fame is that it is first DSLR camera to feature video recording. This lets me consolidate my gadgets as I just gave back my loaned Samsung SC-HMX10C HD camcorder. ...
