  • OM-D image quality in smaller, lighter, cheaper body, Excellent JPEG color and exposure, Suprising level of customizability with several user-assigned function buttons, Raw shooting and in-camera processing, Small but functional handgrip, Flash accessory included, Fast 8 fps burst shooting mode, Touch-sensitive screen available for those who want it; enough physical buttons for those who don't
  • Flash competes with other potential accessories for single accessory port, Image on LCD is difficult to see in bright sunlight, No external dials for exposure mode/shooting parameter setting, Sparse controls and compact layout may be too cramped for some,
  • Despite its small size, the E-PM2 has plenty to offer. At the top of the list is very good JPEG image quality, and though it's unlikely to be a key feature for the camera's target audience, RAW shooting is available. The now-standard (and lest we forg...

  • The E-PM2 is a nice little camera for snapshooters making their first foray into interchangeable-lens photography. However, it won't encourage them to develop their photographic skills and understanding because it is simply too difficult to access and adj...

  • OMD sensor, Touchscreen, Lots of art filters
  • No aperture/shutter speed dial, Fixed screen
  • Buying Guide Best compact system camera 2012 The announcement of the new PEN cameras was particularly exciting because they used the same fantastic technology we'd already evaluated and loved in the OM-D. To see that make its way into a smaller, much chea...

  • While some might gravitate towards the Sony NEX-3N for its larger APS-C-sized sensor, there's no doubt that the E-PM2 is a solid performer. Micro Four Thirds makes an excellent system for beginners, with plenty of room to grow. Also, there's the distinct ...

  • Affordable, good image quality, fast single autofocus, art filters have plenty of use, touchscreen, hotshoe and accessory port
  • Kit lens is a bit soft, no built-in flash, front grip is plasticky, few function buttons, can't use included flash and optional electronic viewfinder together, continuous autofocus not up to scratch
  • A solid compact system camera, the E-PM2 succeeds in improving on its E-PM1 predecessor across the board. Image quality is good, though a more premium lens will get the most out of the camera. We're definitely fans of the E-PM2, but its the all-round b...

  • Dont be put off or fooled by the rather simplistic menu layout and the art filters, which may not be to everyones taste. The Olympus Pen E-PM2 is a very capable little camera, and would be ideal for someone looking for a CSC for occasional use alongside...

  • OM, D sensor, Touchscreen, Lots of art filters
  • No aperture/shutter speed dial, Fixed screen
  • Olympus has once again produced an excellent camera in the shape of the PEN Mini. We can see this being a very popular proposition for first time CSC buyers, or perhaps those looking for a small camera that can be chucked into a bag for the weekend. That...
