  • Having Panasonic's excellent image capture and process in such a tiny unit, with full function control for serious photographers, gives customers more camera in less bulk that we would have thought possible. Neither function nor quality is compromised.
  • It is expensive and about $100 more here than in the US
  • Until you see the GM1 and hold it in your hands you can't really appreciate what the Panasonic engineers and designers have accomplished. This camera sets a new benchmark for the combined desirable characteristics of outstanding image quality with extreme...

  • Light and compact size. Highquality touchscreen. Sharp kit lens. Comfortable shooting design.
  • Average battery life. Mechanical shutter maxes out at 1/500 second. No option for an optical or electronic viewfinder
  • A pocket rocket with more than just good looks to its name, the Panasonic GM1 is a great little camera that has the added bonus of interchangeable lenses....

  • Extremely compact, lightweight, High-quality LCD screen, Superior AVCHD videos, Built-in Wi-Fi
  • Uneven photo quality, May be too small for some, Weak battery life
  • Panasonic deserves a round of applause for designing a very compact and lightweight interchangeable lens camera. Overall, the camera is capable of taking good pictures, but performance is a bit uneven. With that said, we feel you're giving up way too mu...

  • Playing card dimensions means this is one compact that truly is, sturdy DSLRstrength build provides a premium feel, diminutiveness hasn't unduly affected handling and the images are a knock out
  • Soso battery life, feels expensive on launch, touch sensitive onscreen icons are small as are the hard keys on the backplate, lacks an eyelevel viewfinder (EVF)
  • But the images thankfully speak for themselves, and for many people the GM1 will mark the point where they decided to park their DSLR in the back of the cupboard for something more accessible. What's more the price has dropped since the £629 being asked p...

  • Playing card dimensions means this is one compact that truly is, sturdy DSLR-strength build provides a premium feel, diminutiveness hasn’t unduly affected handling and the images are a knock out
  • So-so battery life, feels expensive on launch, touch sensitive on-screen icons are small as are the hard keys on the backplate, lacks an eye-level viewfinder (EVF)
  • As our general impression is a very positive one, it feels like nit picking to describe the battery life as so-so at just over 200 images, which is no better than a humble snapshot costing a quarter of the price. But the images thankfully speak for themse...

  • Incredibly compact design, Speedy autofocus, Touchscreen, Silent electronic shutter mode, Picture quality: clean and clear shots, noise handled very well, Good 1232 mm kit lens, Builtin flash, Comprehensive video mode, WiFi (but no NFC)
  • Battery life could be better, No tilt or swivel screen, 1232 mm lens: non motorised, not great for closeup shots, Grip handle is an optional extra, No weatherproof finish
  • The Panasonic Lumix GM1 is small, light, stylish, pleasant to use and takes top-quality pictures. What's not to like? This interchangeable lens camera packs a good range of features and quality tech specs into a cute little camera that's perfectly portabl...
