  • Sharp images, decent lens, ease of use given the level of sophistication on offer, manageable dimensions, rock solid build, higher than average light sensitivity settings
  • Launch price overly expensive so shop around, Live View finder costs extra
  • A broader focal range and a cheaper price would make this non-interchangeable lens compact a potential world-beater. As it is, it's still hot stuff for those who enjoy pointing and shooting, but would like to raise their game at the same time...

  • Initial impressions of the Panasonic LX5 are very promising indeed. This is a camera that anybody looking for a great compact that still delivers excellent results, can shoot in RAW, offers full manual control and all in a stylish body should do well...
