  • If price has been the only thing keeping you from buying an ILC, you officially have no more excuses left. While the NEX-3n isn't the best ILC on Sony's roster, at this price it's worth every penny. Shooters used to sub-$500 compacts should be very please...

  • Attractive price. APS-C image sensor. Compact zoom lens. Excellent high ISO performance. 180° tilting LCD. Built-in flash.
  • Screen not as sharp as on previous NEX models. Kit lens isn't the best performer. No EVF or expansion options. Front-facing LCD eliminates downward tilt. No dedicated battery charger
  • The Sony Alpha NEX-3N isn't as good a performer as its predecessor, but it does include a collapsible power zoom lens and it comes at a lower price....

  • Tilting screen, Small size, APSC sized sensor
  • No touchscreen, Limited raw functionality, No accessories port/hotshoe
  • Buying Guide Best compact system camera Relatively speaking, Sony has been making compact system cameras (CSCs) for quite some time now, and after a few years of experimentation it seems to have really hit the nail on the head with its latest crop of came...
