Brings a service similar to Dropbox to your own home but with greater capacity and at a lower price. Has all the functions of a home media server with the ability to go mobile. Flawlessly simple.
Storage comes on a single hard drive
At this point it might have become clear we're big fans, and that's because we are. It has all but replaced Dropbox for us because the capacity is so much greater for the price; it replaced a media server, because it allowed us to stream media regardles...
Excellent performance. 2TB of storage accessible via the cloud (or 3 or 4TB with larger versions). Expandable via USB 3.0 port. DLNA and iTunes media server support
Limited data redundancy (because there's only one drive). Can't stream media via the cloud
Solid build, design, feature-rich mobile apps, economical, expandable storage

Abstract: The problem about cloud storage services today is that they give very limited storage space to the user and require a premium for additional storage, worse of all, you don't feel secure having your files saved in a hard drive where you can't see it on you...
Easy to set up, Desktop and mobile apps for various platforms, Works with various cloud storage services
Only one bay, No hotswap capability, Unable to replace HDD
The Western Digital My Cloud is a great network storage device to own if you're new to the ecosystem. The software walks you step-by-step to the tasks that you need to do in order to get it going, and once it does, it works like a charm.(previously publi...
