  • Abstract:  The fourth of our X470 previews is the gaming focussed ASUS Strix X470-F Gaming. By now the pattern should be familiar, this is an AM4 motherboard that supports both the original Ryzen CPU as well as the upcoming 2nd Generation models that come with the...

  • Very good audio platform, Solid performance and durability, Polished software bundle, Great aesthetics and subtle RGB LED, Reasonably priced
  • – BIOS flashback not implemented
  • I really enjoyed testing the ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming and look forward to retesting all of our Ryzen CPUs when we re-benchmark them in the near future. The board has a clean and practical layout making it easy to work with. Having a pre-mounted rear I...

  • Solid core features, Decent performance, especially in games, Smart, subtle design, Cheaper than ASRock
  • Inconsistent in peripheral benchmarks, Few enthusiast features, No audio shielding
  • The Asus ROG Strix board serves up solid gaming performance and a decent specification – and it's cheaper than its main rival. Performance freaks should note that it isn't always the fastest board around, however...

  • Since most AMD X470 motherboards aren't significantly more expensive than the old X370 models, you'd prefer to combine a Ryzen 2 processor with a new motherboard. You're sure you'll be able to get started right away without BIOS updates for which you need...

  • Good “upper mid-range” VRM implementation, Effective M.2 slot cooling, High-performance audio solution, Ample USB and storage connectivity, Three optional RGB header, Reinforced PCIe slots
  • X370 version is almost identical and less expensive, Printed text on heatsink/PCB could be polarising, Only one onboard RGB LED zone
  • Consumers are graced with extensive choice for the AMD AM4 socket given most X370 chipset motherboards are still available alongside newer X470 options. There's also complete backwards compatibility between Ryzen 1000 and 2000 Series CPUs and X370 and X47...

  • Abstract:  The AMD Ryzen 2 processor launch has been the big release of the year so far. But, along with the Ryzen 7 2700X and Ryzen 5 2600X we've also seen the launch of a new AMD chipset too - the X470. And the Asus ROG Strix X470-F Gaming is the best we've seen s...

  • Over the past year, we have seen the processor landscape change more than it had changed in the ten years before. This was, of course, driven by AMD's Ryzen processors, which are much better placed to compete with Intel than they were in previous years. T...

  • Board looks great, Aura Sync RGB Lighting, Good overclocking performance, Easy to use BIOS, RGB Headers, 7 PWM fan headers, USB 3.1 Gen. 2 front header, No USB 2.0 ports on the rear IO, Aggressive pricing, DisplayPort and HDMI, Fixed IO shield
  • For budding enthusiasts, with some light overclocking in mind, the ROG STRIX X470-F GAMING appears to offer everything you would need.If you plan to use your machine for some content creation but aren't hell-bent on achieving the absolute fastest machine...

  • Supports all the new features of Ryzen Gen 2, Supports all AM4 socket CPUs, Great gaming performance, Stunning aesthetics, Built-in RGB lighting customisation, Pre-installed rear I/O guard, Armoured PCIe slots, M.2 heatsink, Awesome SupremeFX S1220A audio
  • None, Neutral, Stock CPU clock power usage seems a little high, but not so high to be of concern, ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming Motherboard Review,
  • If you're building a new Ryzen Gen 2 based system around the X470 chipset, you're going to be spoilt for choice. There's a lot of great motherboards launching today. However, given that it's the first one under £200 that we've tested this week, it's certa...

  • Shiny new X470 chipset, Excellent on-board sound card, Great UEFI BIOS
  • Not a necessary upgrade for X370 owners, Might not be flashy enough for those who crave RGB
  • It's a solid performer with all the features you could want from a new motherboard. I mean, what more could you need in a gaming motherboard...
