  • Price, Attractive Chassis, Intel i5 Processor, Fast StartUp
  • Plastic Inside of Chassis, Not Full Solid State Drive, Battery Life, Reflective Display
  • The Acer Aspire S3 is an attractive machine at first appearances and more attractive when you see the price tag. It however, doesn't have the features that compete with the best of the Ultrabook and lacks a little. However, it offers i5, ultraportable po...

  • The build is great, and the Asus Aspire S3 is a nice looking laptop, if not spectacular. It’s surprisingly solid despite its thin build. Asus has managed To cram a lot into the Asus S3, and for a budget price (compared to other ultrabooks). The Intel Core i5 processor, combined with 4GB of memory ensures that performance is at least relatively nippy. You should be able to do most things with the A
  • Unfortunately battery life isn’t so hot. The Asus S3 will last you around 5 hours before you’ll need to think about charging it again. When its competitors are boasting more than seven, and tablets such as the new iPad are boasting of 10 hours, five hours just won’t cut it. It’s a real let down. And while the connectivity options are appreciated, their placement, at the back makes using them awkw
  • The Asus S3 feels like a middle of the road laptop. It does everything you need it to do without ever excelling itself. A short battery life is the real kicker, but that’s the price you pay for an ultrabook that costs a lot less than many of its compet...

  • No removable battery, limited connectivity

  • The Instant On power saving feature,
  • Keyboard overcrowding leading to increased errors.
  • The Acer Aspire S3 is stylish, light and impressively thin with good visuals. There is more than enough power for daily multitasking, with an attractive power saving ‘Instant On’ feature. Although it has significant peripheral omissions, along with som...

  • Excellent Core i7 performance, Decent keyboard, Graphically capable, Solid, yet, slender build, Typically light
  • Short battery life, Minimal storage space, Frustrating touchpad
  • While the Acer Aspire S3-951 is a well-built and powerful ultrabook, which offers good value for money, we were more drawn to the Toshiba Satellite Z830 and the Asus Zenbook . However, a cut-price Core i5 version of the Acer Aspire S3-951 can be had if y...

  • Attractive and affordable, Slim and sleek, Solid, all-metal chassis, Up to 240GB SSD
  • Awkward connectivity, No USB 3.0, Average battery life, No keyboard backlighting
  • As the first Ultrabook we've reviewed, Acer's 13.3in Aspire S3 has a lot to live up to, and on quite a few points it manages it. We're impressed with its performance, build quality and screen, while it also scores points in the looks and usability categor...
