  • The keyboard is one of the best features on the Alienware M17x. The keys feature a soft-touch covering, and the typing action feels easily tough enough to withstand hours of gaming. It also offers backlighting, with the ability to change colours, so you'll be able to play games all night long. The materials used are amazing throughout, with an all-metal chassis that smacks of high quality. It rea
  • The Alienware M17x may be a great gaming machine, but it's not a good laptop. It's simply too large to carry around with you, and the battery life isn't up to much either. That said, it's still easy to pack in a draw once you've finished playing.
  • We like the Alienware M17x. If you're looking for a gaming laptop, then few choices are better than this. It's amazingly well made, powerful, well-specced and comfortable. It's just not that portable. Best offers for the Alienware M17xDell Home £1,298....

  • There is one reason why I bought the Dell Alienware M17x, and one reason only; gaming. I saved for a considerable amount of time for it and if you can afford to do the same, or even buy it outright - and love your PC games - then I can thoroughly recom...

  • Abstract:  The second incarnation of Alienware’s M17x is creating lots of excitement amongst mobile gaming enthusiasts, but does it really beat a field of premium models? We put it up against solutions from Eurocom and AVADirect to find out what CrossFire can do....

  • When we looked at the pre-production M17x back in June 2009 we were impressed by the quality of the system. Since then Alienware have added an extra level of sheen and performance to the product and as far as desktop replacements go, this is a fantast...

  • Huge array of customisation options; stylish chassis; incredible performance
  • USB ports are too close together; unresponsive trackpad
  • Our configuration of the revamped Alienware M17x is expensive, but it's not bad value for money, considering the awesome components that lurk within. The Intel Core i7 CPU seems to really make a difference in terms of performance, and everything's wra...

  • Abstract:  Alienware is renowned for its eye-catching, high-powered gaming computers, but there has been little change in its laptops designs since its acquisition by Dell in 2006. The M17x (£3369 inc. VAT) aims to change this and is the most powerful and stylis...
