Limited display brightness, Poor battery life
The $799 VivoBook S510 looks enticing, given its 15-inch display, peppy productivity and solid selection of ports, all crammed into a sleek 3.7-pound shell. Unfortunately, the S510's weak battery life means you'll be searching for a power socket much soon...
No Thunderbolt 3 port, Two USB 2,0 ports, Shallow keyboard, Subpar webcam
Asus' VivoBook S510 is both lightweight (3.7 pounds) and light on your wallet ($799). It doesn't blow away more costly desktop-replacement laptops, but it'll serve cash-strapped buyers well...

Not a touchscreen, The battery life is disappointing, it only lasted three hours and 20 minutes in our video playback tests
A powerful, lightweight laptop that has plenty of storage space and is stylish too. However, the battery life is disappointing.Overall Score: 80/100RATINGS:Instructions: 3.5/5Ease of use: 4/5Design: 3.5/5Performance: 4/5WE LIKEDVery thin and lightweight...

Solid performance, slim bezel around the screen, decent port selection
The VivoBook S510U shows there's certainly potential in the VivoBook range but perhaps Asus needs to tighten up various aspects of its laptops before they can really hit the high notes while remaining aggressively priced...
Good-looking and durable, Smooth performance, Well-constructed keyboard
Occasionally iffy touchpad, No dedicated graphics, Screen lacks colour accuracy
There are other portable mid-range laptops available at the same price, but the Asus VivoBook S510U serves up some good specs in an attractive and rugged metal chassis...
