  • Abstract:  Lisa Gade compares the Microsoft Surface Pro with the Sony VAIO Duo 11 Windows 8 tablets. Both run on an Intel Core i5 ULV CPU with HD 4000 graphics with fast SSD drives and at least 4 gigs of RAM. But the Sony Vaio Duo 11 is more of a computer replacemen...

  • Abstract:  I'm writing this review of the Sony Vaio Duo on a Lenovo Yoga 13. It's not a good start for the Vaio is it. The fact is though the Sony Vaio Duo is a really useful Ultrabook convertible and it has surprised me. Sliders. They are in many respect a comprom...

  • Abstract:  Sony has been having a tough time since home 3-D, in which it invested its soul, turned out to be (as I predicted) of little interest to consumers. This hasn't stopped it from continuing to be as innovative and creative as ever, but, as often happens once...

  • Despite all its functionality and inventiveness, the Vaio Duo 11 appears to be a product design that became so focused on touch tech that it lost sight of the screen. It's powerful, well connected and highly portable too, but in some basic areas, it's ju...

  • Dual tablet/laptop, terrific HD touch screen, powerful processor, full Windows 8,
  • Not cheap, sliding mechanism doesn't seem sturdy, no storage for stylus
  • The Duo 11 has a stonking screen and delivers an impressive performance. It shows off Windows 8 to best effect but while the sliding screen mechanism is distinctive, it won't be for everyone. This being Sony, it's no bargain, but if you want a hybrid t...

  • Abstract:  The Sony Vaio Duo 11 laptop has an identity crisis. Slipping and sliding, the Duo is in one instance a thick and heavy Windows 8 tablet before clumsily transforming into a Windows 8 laptop with an awkward, fixed-angle screen. In trying to do two things...

  • Vibrant display, portable, well built
  • No track pad, a little chunky, not great as a tablet, sliding mechanism is difficult to operate
  • As a notebook, the Vaio Duo 11 performs well, and the HD screen is high quality. But for £849 for the least powerful configuration, we think it is a little too expensive for what you get....

  • It’s certainly nice having the option of using the Duo 11 as a tablet from time to time. However, at this price the Duo 11 also needs to earn its keep as a workhorse laptop, and that baby-sized keyboard could deter many people who need a laptop that th...
