  • iTunes Store now offers 256 Kbps, DRM-free tracks from all four major labels. HD TV episodes are now available for purchase. Diverse media store. Genius feature adds custom automated playlist generation. Simple network sharing. Tight integration with iPod...
  • Music subscription service still AWOL. No easy way to rip or transcode video content. Geniuss recommendation engine doesnt approach the slickness of the best Internet radio streaming sites.
  • Apple continues to polish its core media app, eschewing music subscription services while finally removing DRM from the major label music tracks in its diverse iTunes Store. It remains a near-bulletproof and worthy download, especially for sound qualit...

  • Genius Playlists are surprisingly good, and should just get better; totally trippy new visualizers sure to be a hit in dorm rooms.
  • Genius Sidebar tends to recommend music you already own; lack of preference to disable iTunes Store links in library.
  • iTunes 8 is worth upgrading to for Genius alone. The refined podcast settings and new visualizers are also welcome additions. Grid view looks pretty, with a properly prepared library, but isn’t the most practical way of browsing your library especia...

  • Genius Playlists, Genius Sidebar, Grid View
  • No HD TV for Australia Yet, Genius Sidebar is part Apple ad
  • Apple hasnt broken anything significant that people liked about iTunes 8, and while the new features arent truly astounding, we figure the handy Grid view and Genius playlists - once Apple gets enough data to start making slightly better suggestions ...

  • Concise interface, Genius features, Album art
  • DRM music, Big Brother nature of iTunes Plus
  • Undoubtedly the best music organisation software, but there are less Big-Brother like places to buy music online

  • New browsing mode, Genius playlists, HD playback support
  • New browsing mode only good if youve got album art, Genius playback only good on mainstream titles
  • This is a case were Genius, while weve seen it before, really is Genius for both the consumer and for Apples bottom line...

  • Apple iTunes 8 remains solid, although it still has both its benefits and its quirks as a media organiser, player, and jukebox. None of the new features are what we would characterise as a must-have update, however. Genius is a useful - and generally ...
