  • very responsive, color-accurate, high-res display, good cameras, four loud speakers, good software, possibility to make calls, good input devices, fast memory, the tablet does not get hot, good battery life
  • not a lot of storage space, throttles down under load, no 3.5-mm jack, case is flexible, outdated security patches, slow Wi-Fi and GPS, preinstalled bloatware

  • Display, Battery Life, Fast Charging, Performance, Build Quality, Desktop Mode, Great gaming performance
  • Camera, Unnecessary Camera Bump, Slightly Outdated Software, Occasional lag when pressing the “back” button, Wrap Up, In a market where tablets are a dying breed (how many tablets have been announced in the past year? You can likely count them on one hand
  • In a market where tablets are a dying breed (how many tablets have been announced in the past year? You can likely count them on one hand), the Huawei MediaPad M5 is one of the best options out there. Available in, technically, three options with a 8.4-in...

  • Sharp, bright screen, Powerful audio, Fast LTE
  • Pricier than the iPad, which is the product by which all other non-Windows tablets are measured
  • Huawei's Mediapad M5 could have been the product to face down the $329 iPad, but the larger model costs at least $70 more...

  • The new MediaPad M5 high-end Android tablets deliver good performance for the expected price (to date, rumored at around $400). The slim and elegant form factor is a little thicker than the Samsung Tab S3 but for the 10.8-inch form factor is larger.Key Fe...

  • Rich, metal body, Excellent speakers, Great value
  • No headphone jack, Last-gen processor, Mediocre camera performance
  • If you're an iPhone user it's easier for us to recommend an iPad Mini 4 than the Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4, despite the iPad offering worse value for money. The reason is simple: iOS will be familiar, and your current suite of apps will work on your shiny ne...

  • We're still waiting for UK and US pricing, which means we can't give a definitive verdict - or a score - just yet. Huawei has promised it will be "disruptive" and going by the Euro prices, it certainly offers better specs than the MacBook Pro for the same...

  • Bright, sharp screen, Good size for Nexus 7 lovers, Android 8.0
  • Doesn't stream HD content from Netflix, Prime Video, Google Play Movies, No headphone jack, Software basically thinks it's a big phone, Lots of pre-installed junk
  • A small tablet that packs good specs and a nice screen, but the Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4 feels like a missed opportunity...

  • Attractive design, It's portable and easy to carry around, Sharp and colourful display, Smooth and lag-free performance
  • Lots of additional bloat in software, Android apps still not particularly well optimised for tablets, Battery life could be better
  • There aren't that many great small-scale Android tablets out there. The 8.4-inch Huawei MediaPad M5, therefore, is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stagnating market.Apart from a few odd quirks here and there - we'd like to see more on-screen time fr...
