  • Retains all the features of the DSi released in 2009 plus improved comfort, improved audio and bigger screens.
  • Higher price of primarily identical system (save the size) and potential power issue. Slick top prone to scratching and smudging.Overall: If you don’t already have a DS Lite or DSi and have big pockets (in more ways than one) you might as well go f...

  • Abstract:  When I first held a Nintendo DSi in my hands, I was impressed – it's a cute little system, a cute little system with two cameras and a microphone. Oh sure, the battery life wasn't fantastic and the speakers not terribly loud, but it was undeniably fun...

  • Unmatched durabilityFills a room with soundSlightly improved battery life
  • Some games look pixelatedStiff, shallow buttons unsuitable for longer playFingerprint magnet
  • The Nintendo DSi XL is a solid handheld; without a doubt, one of the most solid Nintendo's ever offered. But at $190, we're not sure exactly who the system is for. If you've already got a DSi (or even a Lite) it's not a worthwhile upgrade; for every point...

  • Abstract:  Our Nintendo DSi XL showed up at the office the same day news of the Nintendo 3DS began trickling out of Japan. That system will be out before March of next year, at least in Japan, and Nintendo wants us to buy a system this weekend without knowing w...

  • Larger screen size, Still very portable, New matte finish offers better grip, Compatible with DS cartridges
  • Weak and overpriced titles, Same screen resolution as the DSi and DS Lite, Small number of preinstalled titles
  • Nintendo’s blown-up DSi XL offers a more immersive experience, but may not be worth the upgrade for existing DS owners....

  • Abstract:  The new DSi XL is here. Does size really matter? Nintendo thinks so. So grab a breath mint and gather round the gamer with the new toy...

  • Adds two supersized screens; improved viewing angle; fantastic battery life; great new pen-shaped stylus; preinstalled games and software.
  • A bit bulky and heavy; size makes device less portable; no improvements over DSi's cameras and internal storage; networking hiccups found in DSi remain; text-based games may look slightly blurry.
  • At the end of the day, the DSi XL is exactly the same as the DSi, so unless you're desperate for more touch-screen real estate, or your vision is impaired, we can't recommend a purchase over the original DSi. Read full review See all prices

  • Abstract:  The release of the DSi XL, or DSi LL as it is known in Japan, was a surprise for many. Nintendo had already released three iterations of the DS hardware, and the DSi felt like the final handheld before a complete refresh was due. But that wasn’t the c...

  • Abstract:  Where this should appeal most to (and you have probably guessed what we are going to say) is the older gamer and one whose hands don't resemble those of a small child or pixie.Yes, it is not really something that can slip into a trouser pocket, but th...

  • Big, gorgeous screens and comfy Sharpiesized stylus prove it: Size matters. Better battery life than DSi.
  • Blownup art looks a bit pixelized. Where are we supposed to store that giant stylus?
