  • The Nintendo Classic Mini is a beautifully designed machine, packed full of most of the console's greatest games. Aside from a couple of omissions, all of the greats are here, from Super Mario Bros 3, to Puzzle Bobble and The Legend of Zelda, The controll
  • The controller's cable is too short, and while it's totally possible to place the console on a coffee table, this should've been optional rather than necessary for couch gaming. Pro tip: Be prepared to buy an extension cable, Not being able to expand upon
  • Above all else, the Nintendo Classic Mini is an authentic retro gaming experience. There's no internet connectivity here, no online leaderboards, no downloadable extras, and no patches. It's a warts-and-all experience, and it means that if you want to reli...

  • Overall, the Classic Mini reminds us that the NES catalogue can be well worth revisiting even in 2017. For the curious passer-by, it's a respectable way to trace Nintendo's nascent steps into console gaming, and most will be hard-pressed to spot the inacc...

  • Fabulous design, Authentic retro, gaming experience, Subtle modern touches
  • Extremely short controller cables, No expandable games library, No power, adaptor in box
  • The Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System is a console that prizes retro authenticity over modern convenience. While the overall result is that it positively oozes charm, it does mean it has a couple of inconvenient elements, such as having...

  • Although the NES Classic has some flaws - namely the ridiculously short controller cable - we can't help but recommend getting one if you can find it in stock. This is little bundle of joy offers insanely good value for those who want to relive days gone...

  • Abstract:  It is not a ridiculous overstatement to suggest that the Nintendo Entertainment System saved the games industry. Back in early 1980s, when the company released its fledgling console in Japan (where it was known as the Famicom), the business was undergoing...

  • 30 classic NES games, USB-powered
  • Controller leads are only 70cm long, Can't add any more games
  • There are things the Nintendo Classic Mini could do better. I'd like a plug adapter, automatic restore point saves and longer controller leads. If you're looking for a bit of nostalgic comfort this Christmas, however, you could certainly do a lot worse th...

  • Excellent selection of perfectly ported games; ability to save progress on all titles; high definition output; bargain price
  • Impractical, short cables; no possibility of adding more games; no software side ability to change titles; no plug included

  • Packs in 30 classic games, Costs only £50, Emulation is entirely faithful
  • Controller leads are too short, Can't add extra games
  • That's the magical thing about Nintendo Classic Mini: it captures the imagination like no other console we've seen this year. Big kids, actual kids and people who'll claim to know better come flocking in its direction once they've seen Donkey Kong playing...

  • Superb collection of classic 8-bit games, authentic feel and design, great upscaling for big-screen HD TVs, excellent menu system that saves games progress
  • Smallest controller cable in the world… ever (no wireless option either), reset button should have been on the gamepad, no mains power supply in the box, can't add new games
  • The caveats could put some people off but, while annoying, the games and ease of use have drawn us back time and time again to the NES Classic Mini. The 30 games stored in its miniscule bowels are each worthy of the term classic and a joy to revisit.Witho...
