  • Abstract:  With Activision now seen as the world’s number one publisher, it was a little acquisition of Red Octane which really got things cooking. Red Octane together with Harmonix had come up with what would become one of the biggest names in gaming of the m...

  • Fun multiplayer mode, solid track list, works with both DS consoles (original and Lite), its Guitar Hero!
  • Control scheme induces hand cramps, only 25 songs, too easy for experienced players The Final Word Vicarious Visions has managed to do what many thought impossible — translate the fun of Guitar Hero to the Nintendo DS. It wont let you live out your...
  • Vicarious Visions has managed to do what many thought impossible — translate the fun of Guitar Hero to the Nintendo DS. It wont let you live out your axeman fantasies, and the control scheme can be downright painful, but nevertheless, Guitar Hero: O...

  • The Guitar Grip works extremely well. The game packs all the best bits from the original Guitar Hero titles, plus it utilises the DS touch screen and microphone to great effect.
  • Playing more than 3-4 songs in one go is likely to risk some serious muscle strain – especially for owners of the original, older DS. Smaller fingers will struggle to reach some of the buttons. That infamous orange button is missing, but given the a...

  • Abstract:  You know, one with characters and story, and all that? Even so, at one of our wild NZGamer Christmas parties I gave it a shot. I got owned. Majorly. Epically, even. But with my bruised ego and lowered self-esteem I also came away realising what the fu...

  • Abstract:  My experience with Guitar Hero has been rather minimal. I did try to encourage myself to give it a go once but found I’d rather spend that money on a real video game. You know, one with characters and story, and all that? Even so, at one of our wild NZ...

  • Abstract:  Cover bands are never quite as good as the original groups themselves. While you might enjoy hearing that familiar riff from This Fire, it just isnt the same as actually hearing Franz Ferdinand tune up. Guitar Hero: On Tour invokes that same feeling...

  • A noble effort thatll enable addicts to get their fill, Plectrum stylus a nice touch, Breed by Nirvana, Great DS-themed innovations for Guitar Duels
  • Its just not fun without the guitars, Only 25 songs means a limited shelf life, The fretboard slipping out (as it often does) means a complete restart, Uncomfortable to play
  • Activisions heart was in the right place, with this imaginative adaptation, but without a plastic guitar the illusion of rock is short-lived - removing pretty much all of what made this series so much fun.

  • A brave – and partially successful – attempt to bring Guitar Hero to the DS. Kudos to Vicarious Visions for trying. 7.4/10Print this pageUser reviews (0)Share this pageNoticed something wrong? Report error/mistake....

  • Same old Guitar Hero fun
  • Extra peripheral awkward, not that many tracks, poor music quality
  • There’s so much going against it that it’s a shock to discover that Guitar Hero: On Tour is quite a lot of fun...
