Abstract: In a year absolutely stuffed with HD remakes, one game - just like its protagonist - stands head and shoulders above the rest. A masterclass in videogame preservation, this is a title that puts the efforts of rival publishers to shame. Both progressive...
Abstract: It has been no less than 10 years since the original Halo: Combat Evolved was released for the Xbox. The game has quickly gained cult hit status and is often credited for reinventing the first person shooter genre for consoles. It managed to secure a p...

Abstract: If you've ever played an Xbox in your life, then odds are that you've played Halo: Combat Evolved, which launched the system and captivated millions of players. But the question isn't "How good was it then?" It's "How good is it now?" The answer: It's...

Abstract: Although it is a remake, the game has been redeveloped using the original code but with new and improved graphics and audio engines. You can now play Halo in full high definition at a 16:9 aspect ratio compared to the original 4:3. The single player ...
Abstract: The world was a very different place in 2001. Call of Duty hadn't been released yet, Medal of Honor was good, and fans of first-person shooters were still searching for health packs instead of waiting for their health to regenerate automatically. And t...
In the end, Combat Evolved Anniversary is a strange package. Its campaign feels half hearted, neither fully remaking nor preserving the original game. The Reach multiplayer maps, while excellent, feel tacked on to the package to attempt to justify this be...
