  • Sleek, unobtrusive design. Cleverly designed Lightning Connector dock. Warm, rich, transparent sound. Bass response has real weight. Crisp, clear wireless audio over AirPlay. Easy to set up using free app.
  • Awkward, egg-shaped remote. Chops off a couple of seconds of each track in wireless mode
  • The elegantly designed, yet relatively affordable, Bowers & Wilkins Z2 speaker system raises the bar for audio quality, and offers wireless AirPlay connectivity along with a Lightning connector to dock your iPhone or iPod touch....

  • The Bowers & Wilkins Z2 is a compact AirPlay speaker with an integrated Lightning dock that's attractively designed, sounds good for its size, and is lightweight enough to easily move from room to room (though it does have to be powered by an AC adapter)
  • Expensive; could sound a little better for the price; no built-in rechargeable battery for mobile use
  • The attractively designed $400 Bowers & Wilkins Z2 wireless speaker sounds pretty good and has a built-in Lightning dock, but it doesn't quite stand out enough in a crowded market....

  • Offers both AirPlay and a Lightning-connector dock; very impressive sound
  • Cheap, plasticky remote, $499.95
  • Bowers & Wilkins's $999 A7 remains the priciest AirPlay speaker I've tested and it sounds exceptional. The company's Z2 costs half as much, but it still sounds very, very good. While the Z2 can't rival the A7's sound, it's far more affordable, it's consid...

  • Rich, full sound, Apple Airplay, Compact design
  • Quite pricey, Metal grille might be offputting for some, No iPhone? No love
  • Even though this is more affordable than the Zeppelin, the Z2's still-hefty price tag will no doubt alienate many potential buyers looking for a more compact speaker. But if price isn't the issue, the Z2 is essentially the Zeppelin Mini but even better -...

  • Good detail and snappy timing, Decent bass weight for its size, Beautiful build
  • No streaming for non-Apple products, Can sound small and closed in, Awkward remote
  • Everything we love about the B&W Z2 is still there, but it's starting to lag in terms of streaming features and outright sound quality. Most wireless speakers now support streaming from all OS devices, and the B&W Z2 might just be missing a trick with f...

  • Abstract:  The baby of B&W's AirPlay range is a little belter, and it adds a proper Lightning dock to Apple's wireless tech. It'll easily fill a small to medium-sized room with chunky bass...
