  • JVC's DLA-X35 doles out huge, stunning projection images characterized by deep black levels and highly accurate color; excellent value for this level of image quality; extensive picture adjustments and setup options, including power zoom, focus, and lens
  • Inaccurate pre-calibration picture settings, doesn't include accessories necessary to watch 3D, inferior to many projectors in brighter environments
  • The relatively affordable JVC DLA-X35 produces videophile-grade images with very few compromises.

  • The JVC DLA-X35, and its Pro side twin, the RS46U, are the brightest of their respective JVC projector line-ups. The thing is, the DLA-X35 (and therefore also the RS46U) are not overly bright, and are likely to struggle in many “family room” type environm...

  • Abstract:  First, the Sony VPL-HW50ES. Ever since the company made the move to its own LCoS flavor, SXRD, I'm hard pressed to recall a Sony projector that wasn't among the best in its category. With the contrast-ratio benefits of LCoS plus accurate color, the variou...

  • Easy motorised set-up, Bright, punchy colours, Detailed and sharp
  • Contrast a little over-cooked, Some motion issues
  • There's much to like about the JVC DLA-X35BE. It's easy to set-up and use thanks to the motorised lens and good picture presets, so you'll have no trouble getting the best out of this projector. And its best is undoubtedly a high standard: whether you'...

  • Exceptional cinematic picture quality, Precise, motorised optical adjustments, No crosstalk on 3D
  • No colour management system, No auto switching to 3D picture settings
  • While the Sony HW50's punchier, crisper images possibly make it a slightly better choice for people after a projector capable of functioning well in a relatively casual environment containing a bit of ambient light, when it comes to properly darkened cine...
