  • Great design, High resolution display, Good performance
  • The camera's autofocus is fiddly, Music player needs lots of work, Streaming music or video with AcerCloud can be tricky
  • Although Acer is a name that rarely gets mentioned when Android smartphones are concerned, the CloudMobile is a handset that deserves attention. Without a doubt, it is among the better-looking devices we've reviewed lately. Performance-wise, we have n...

  • Stunning screen, Great for video, Good build quality, Impressive audio, Fast and powerful
  • Disappointing cloud features, Only 8GB internal storage, Poor contacts system, Not stylish, Poor battery
  • Buying guide 20 best mobile phones in the world today With the CloudMobile S500, Acer seems to be making a genuine push to compete with the major smartphone players. It's got an absolutely gorgeous screen, a formidably fast processor and a premium build. ...

  • For the price, Acer’s hardware is as good as it gets. Period. The 4.3-inch 720p screen is absolutely superb - you can’t make out the individual pixels. Add to that the ability to output the screen to a telly via HDMI, and you’re onto a winner. The plastic build itself isn’t exactly sexy, but it’s solidly made, and the curved design reminds of us lots of recent Sony Xperia Android phones - no bad
  • Unfortunately, said software is also well behind the times at this point - Android 4.0 is now two full versions out of date at this point, and showing its age a bit. If you’ve used a speedier Android 4.1 or 4.2 phone with smart notifications you can pinch to expand, you won’t want to go back.Some of the hardware disappoints meanwhile, though for this price you’d usually excpect a few cut corners.
  • The Acer CloudMobile proves that the company has come a long way since its first tepid attempts at Android smartphones. It’s certainly one of the best smartphones to be had for under £200 SIM-free. But if you can stretch to just a little bit more, the ...

  • Screen, Finishing, Responsiveness, Photo and video rendering
  • High SAR, Very slight lack of fluidity here and there, Battery life!
  • The Acer CloudMobile is a great smartphone that's part-mid-range and part-high-end, all at an affordable price. With its excellent display, high responsiveness and good video and audio performances, it's nearly flawless. The only major drawback is the bat...

  • Attractive design, Stunning screen, Decent performance from the dual core processor, MicroUSB port supports HDMI via MHL
  • Camera isn't great, Battery life is below par, More expensive than the Google Nexus 4
  • It's taken quite a while for the Acer CloudMobile S500 to actually make it to market -- it was first demo'ed back in February -- and this shows up somewhat in the version of Android that' it's running. Instead of using the latest Jelly Bean release, as fo...

  • Smooth, fast performance Impressive sound quality; goodquality HD display; Great for video;
  • Contacts menu is fiddly; Cloud service redundant; Unstylish design;
  • The Acer S500 CloudMobile is a reasonable handset aimed at business users. It has reliable dual-core power, a crisp colourful HD display and impressive sound quality. The Acer Cloud services are not really necessary though...

  • Looks good, barebones Android, expandable memory, great screen
  • Average battery life, quite a basic device, old version of Android
  • If this phone shipped with Jelly Bean, it would basically be a no-brainer. It's a good, mid-range handset that's truly a pleasure to use. It's perhaps a little outclassed by the more powerful Nexus 4 which, while lacking in upgrade for memory, has a sl...

  • If you are considering buying a smartphone outright then the Acer is certainly worth a look. The superb screen boasts one the highest pixel densities I’ve come across. It’s light too and comfortable in use. Underneath the Qualcomm Krait dual-core proc...
