  • Extreme ruggedness, FLIR thermal camera, Headphone jack, SOS hardware button / Multi-function button, Unique industrial design
  • Super thick, wide body, Tiny display for size of phone, Extreme lack of software updates, Cameras are baseline, GSM/HSPA only (AT&T, T-Mobile, no Verizon)
  • If you're aiming for the newest smartphone software or any sort of device security, this isn't the phone for you. If you need a device that can access the internet, email, send messages, and tell you the temperature of a nearby vehicle engine block, the C...

  • It has a Flir camera. Need I say more?, Waterproof up to an hour, Battery life that keeps going, and going, and going
  • Big, heavy and cumbersome, Not the fastest phone on the block, Expensive
  • Cat's S60 smartphone is designed to take a beating and keep working, with the added benefit of an infrared camera...

  • Accurate thermal imaging camera, Rugged, waterproof build, Useful pre-installed apps, Latest Android software, Expandable storage
  • Sluggish camera sensors, Mediocre specs for the price, Back flap can pop open upon impact, Lackluster call quality
  • The Cat S60 is a unique unlocked phone with an extra-rugged body and a built-in thermal imaging camera, but it's relatively costly for the specs...

  • Great battery life, Unique built-in thermal imaging feature, Attractive, durable design, Superbright screen
  • Mediocre performance, Lackluster low-light photos, No 802.11 ac Wi-Fi
  • The Cat S60 tops its next-closest competitor, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, in almost every way. It's more durable, has a brighter screen, lasts longer on a charge and looks better. At $599, the S60 is cheaper, too. And that's before you even talk about i...

  • Abstract:  Most smartphones are too fragile for job sites. They break when theyre dropped, or crap out when submerged in water. The Cat S60 is different. Its designed to take a ton of punishment and continue to operate. It works when its completely underwater, ca...

  • Should you buy the Cat S60? Almost certainly not. This is not a phone for the average consumer, but I could see businesses buying them for employees. Almost every contractor I've dealt with was carrying some sort of smartphone in a giant ruggedized case...

  • Very rugged, Thermal camera is fun and useful, Good standard camera
  • Mediocre screen, Expensive, Hefty design, Thermal camera app is sluggish
  • More times than not, the Verge score is based on the average of the subscores below. However, since this is a non-weighted average, we reserve the right to tweak the overall score if we feel it doesn't reflect our overall assessment and price of the produ...

  • The Cat S60 features a built-in thermal imaging camera. It can consistently survive 6 foot drops onto concrete and can take a 16 foot dunking into water. It has an expandable microSD card slot and loud front-facing speakers
  • It's significantly thicker and heavier than other smartphones. The thermal imaging feature while cool and fun, is mostly useless aside from some specific cases
  • The Cat S60's durable build is impressive, but its appeal is limited to those who can make good use of its built-in thermal imaging camera...
