  • Dual 13-megapixel cameras, Attractive, water-resistant design, Dual front-facing speakers, Near high-end performance at a mid-range price, MicroSD slot for expanded storage
  • Battery life isn't great, Cameras are good, but not the best, Sealed battery
  • If it's a selfie-centric smartphone you're after, HTC's Desire Eye is an easy choice, unless you're willing to import Oppo's N3 , with its motorized, swiveling 16-megapixel camera when it arrives, reportedly in December, for $650. Related: Samsung Galaxy...

  • Build quality, power, good value for money, software, waterproofing
  • Battery lacking capacity, front camera resolution is unjustifiable really
  • The HTC Desire Eye is a great smartphone. The design might be plastic, but it's a solid, well constructed and weather-proofed handset pitched at a fair price point. It's good in use thanks to having plenty of power on board, and has a great display...

  • HTC have pulled a beauty from the bag with the Desire Eye and we think it'll be a big hit.It looks and feels great, has a decent screen and is fast enough for most people's needs. The cameras are good and the monster front-facing snapper is sure to go down...

  • 13megapixel rear and front snappers, No need to close ports to make waterproof, Impressive processor, Excellent battery
  • Snapper's features are gimmicky, Plastic chassis
  • HTC has dubbed its Desire Eye a super selfie camera – and with both front and rear snappers packing 13 megapixels it's easy to see why. This is the first time we've seen a smartphone that has two cameras with the same specs. But in actual fact it has bette...

  • The HTC Desire EYE says it's one thing - a selfie phone. In fact, there's so much more to it, and what HTC has done is produced a phone which has far wider appeal than an initial glance would let you believe. The EYE is brilliantly built, made from a reall...

  • 13MP front and rear cameras. IPx7 rating makes it waterproof without closing the ports. Fantastic processor. Great Battery
  • Gimmicky camera features. Plastic body
  • HTC call the Desire Eye a super selfie camera and with 13MP front and rear cameras on board, why wouldnt they? It is a first for any smartphone to rock same specs on both the front and rear cameras, but I am not convinced if the selfie camera is its bes...

  • The HTC Desire Eye is the first smartphone to feature a front-facing flash to illuminate your selfies. Its screen is bright and bold, it has plenty of power and its colourful body is waterproof
  • Although the front camera has 13 megapixels, images still suffer from noise and blur, particularly in low light. Focus is far from perfect too, even with the flash assistance
  • Although its flash-equipped front camera is eye-catching, its image results aren't as impressive as I'd hoped. Still, the flash will illuminate your face where other phones can't, and the Desire Eye comes with fun software, is well-specced and waterproof...

  • Abstract:  Microsoft is marketing its Lumia 735 as the ultimate smartphone for taking selfies, but before the Windows Phone even went on sale HTC one-upped it with the 13Mp Desire Eye. Here we compare the specs to see which phone is the better deal, plus which is th...
