  • The Samsung Galaxy 5 i5500 is one of the best budget Android smartphones. It will be priced at around $200 without contract in many countries. In that price range, I would definitely recommend it. Except for the low display resolution, it is the...

  • The Samsung Galaxy 5 is an enticing low-end Android handset, mainly due to the optimized interface, which runs silky smooth even on 600MHz chipset. It lacks some hardware features, such as multitouch, backlighting of the physical keys, front-facing ca...

  • Very smooth interface, optimized for the 2.8” screen, Pleasant design, Affordable, 5.1 channel SRS sound in headset mode
  • The physical keys feel crammed, Photos and videos appear dull, Lack of DivX/Xvid support

  • Good value, decent battery life, nice styling
  • Small screen can strain the eyes, basic camera without flash
  • For the money, this is a great phone. In terms of budget Android handsets, the HTC Wildfire still edges it, but this is a pretty good second. The other features youd expect, like a 3.5mm headphone jack for instance, are all here. And its a great looker

  • The ringtones volume is ideal courtesy of a dedicated loudspeaker at the back and nice choice of melodies. The vibro is good and has above average power. This is a typical Samsung without any speech communication problems. It is priced at €240, which ...

  • Capacitive touchscreen, Loses minimal capabilities of more expensive devices, Swype text input
  • Glossy finish, Low resolution display, Poor camera
  • The Samsung Galaxy 5 is the cheapest Android smartphone currently available in Australia. The reasonably stylish Galaxy 5 has most of the capabilities of more expensive devices, though its low res display and mediocre camera aren't impressive. At this pri...

  • The Samsung Galaxy Europa i5500 is an impressive handset considering its price. The camera is poor, and the absence of multi touch support is disappointing, but overall if your budget is around £200 and you want Android, you could do a lot worse. ...

  • Good styling, long battery life for a smartphone, value for money
  • The camera is poor and lacks flash; the small screen is hard on the eyes
  • We love the style and usability of this device, but it's no ordinary Android handset. If you want a really whizzy smartphone, you'll be paying more than Samsung is asking for the Europa. But if you want to pay less, or are after a smaller handset than th...
