Abstract: Sony may have a winner with its new M4 Aqua – with a 5” IPS screen, IP65/68 rating, a decent camera, and a two-day battery life.Initially it is only available from Optus on a $0 upfront and $40 MyPlan Plus over 24 months - minimum $960 but that includes 5...
Easy to hold; Upgradeable storage; Water-resistant body with open microUSB (cool!); Battery could last up to two days if need be, though one day is more likely;
Piddling 8GB storage is one of the lowest amounts we've seen in ages; Performance can be a little slow; Camera is of a decent megapixel amount, but isn't the best quality, nor particularly fast;
Sony's take on the mid-range gets some things right offering that friendly distinctive Sony design for a better price tag, but lets it down in storage and with a camera that just doesn't feel up to Sony's regular quality.If the price were to drop a little...
". it shoots itself in the foot by letting preinstalled apps gobble up almost all of its limited storage space and the camera, while well-specced, is pretty awful."...
The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua's slick, minimalist design is very similar to that of the top-end Xperia Z3. Its waterproof body makes it usable in the shower, and its capable processor handles the essentials well
The camera is truly awful, making it a bad choice for anyone keen on photography. There's a pitiful amount of storage, and Sony's insistence on bundling apps and widgets makes the phone cluttered right out of the box
The M4 Aqua starts well with its luscious looks and affordable price, but the abysmal camera and storage woes quickly take the shine off an otherwise decent handset...

Well-built case that is also stylish, Water-resistant and dust proof, Mostly excellent screen, Decent performance
Doesn't ship with the latest version of Android Lollipop, Camera could be better, Poor stock keyboard
With the exception of the M4's screen, Sony has created a phone that is, by all accounts, an excellent entry into the mid-range market. As with any device in this price range, there are compromises. But, for the most part, the company has packed in featur...

the phone was a pleasure to use. Having owned and used predominantly high end handsets in recent years it's good to use a mid-range handset for a few weeks to see the differences. My personal view is that the screen size is a little too big for a 720p pa...

Great Design and Build Quality, Performance is Great, Waterproof
Might be too large for some people's tastes, Suffers with Graphics Intensive Games

As you'd expect from Sony, The M4 is a decent midrange smartphone that balances useful features with a design that belies its mid-range price tag. These plus its solid battery life, decent screen and great camera make it a great deal provided you're awar...
