  • Abstract:  T he Xperia Z looks both great and bizarre at the same time. The exterior is a slim, black (or white or purple) tablet vaguely resembling Space Odyssey markers, with no physical buttons on its 5 inch screen and measuring 139mm x 71mm.It does help the phon...

  • Abstract:  But did it pass KYM's ‘Living With' test? Find out below. There's a lot to like about this device. Not only does it feature one of the best displays we've ever seen, one powered by Sony's Mobile Bravia Engine 2, but it also looks and feels great in the han...

  • Fantastic screen, NFC, HDMI (MHL link via microUSB), 'Small apps', Lovely design
  • Short on internal memory
  • Sony’s handsets tend to frustrate me more often than they please me, showing glimpses of greatness let down by some annoying issues. The Xperia Z, however, gets so much right that my grumbles seem almost wilful. These boil down to a request for more mem...

  • The Xperia Z is Sony's best smartphone to date. It takes the ideas the company has been working on over the last few years, and throws them all together in a more refined and polished manner than ever before. It ticks all the right boxes, yet there's some...

  • Abstract:  Sony have been producing some fantastic phones since they took over the Sony Ericsson brand and now just produce Sony smartphones. There have been a few so far in the S, P, U and T which was last years flagship camera phone. Now Sony go a step further...

  • The camera is effective and very easy to use and the waterproof case is a fun gimmick that could prove to be a lifesaver.
  • The size will defeat some smaller hands and the waterproof socket covers are necessary but fiddly
  • If your hands are big enough, this is a handsome, powerful and effective smartphone with lots of cool features – it's Sony's best yet....

  • Display, design, power control options, Sony's UI isn't offensive, waterproof
  • Camera performance is average, might be too big for some
  • There's a lot to like about the Sony Xperia Z. It is the strongest Android phone that Sony has produced to date, fusing power, design and features. We don't find Sony's customisations to be too intrusive and the attention to battery life is to be we...

  • Terrific screen, powerful processor, fine camera, waterproof, dust resistant,
  • Have to wait for 4.2 Jelly Bean, runs hot, no HDMI port
  • The Sony Xperia Z is a terrific handset offering (almost) the best of Android plus a terrific screen, very fine camera, super-powerful processor and lots more besides. If you can handle the size and the weight, it's a phone to be proud of, and throws d...
