  • Great allrounder that can be configured to your needs, Excellent upgrade potential, Dense storage capability, Six PCIE x8 slots offer good expandability
  • Quite noisy, even for a server, Fans must be removed two at a time
  • Sun Microsystems Sun Fire X4275 is an excellent all-rounder, although wed love it if the noise could be cut down a little more.

  • Abstract:  Dell doesn’t really have a direct alternative to the X4275 in its PowerEdge stable so Sun’s competition comes mainly from HP’s DL380 G6 or perhaps its DL180 G6, with the latter looking slightly better value. Nevertheless, this 2U rack system is a good ...
