  • The performance and price stand out, but we also found value in the software package that enables 128bit encryption.
  • I'm not sold on the advanced software features coming as a paid upgrade. If the software has the capability, then we feel SanDisk should include it as a valueadd to make this series more attractive than the products coming from Samsung.
  • Overall, we like the SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSD and would buy one if needed. These products are not for everyone. Advanced thumb drives have increased in capacity and are smaller, but fail to deliver the same high transfer rates of data. The gap i...

  • Swift performance at a reasonable price, Durable-feeling plastic shell, USB 3.0 cable is removable and replaceable
  • Capacity tops out at 480GB, Textured-plastic top can collect dust and dirt, Newer Extreme 510 model offers better shock- and water-resistance, Competing Samsung T1 costs less
  • SanDisk's slim external SSD isn't the fastest we've tested, but it's not far off, and it's reasonably priced. Just know that if you need more than 480GB of speedy storage, you'll have to look elsewhere. Read More…...

  • Form Factor, Storage Capacity, Quick uncompressed file transfer
  • Compressed file transfer speed
  • Its compact, its light, it has a lot of space and it's easy to carry. It comes with a 3-year warranty. It does have a good performance with compress file types though I wish Kingston HyperX DataTraveller had enough space to do a 98.3GB assorted videos fold...
