  • Abstract:  Forget about learning to use a computer in order to print out your digital shots. With Epsons PictureMate PM 280 you can browse, edit, enhance, print and store your photos without going near a PC or Mac. (Compare Prices)

  • Built-in CD burner; fast photo printing speeds; good-looking prints.
  • No prints larger than 4-by-6 inches; paper jams; industrial design.
  • Epson’s PictureMate Flash PM 280 isn’t perfect. Its print sizes are limited, there were a few paper jams, and the new industrial design leaves some people cold. But, what it does do, it does very well—which is print the best lookin...

  • Abstract:  Photo printers, or as Epson chooses to call them, portable photo labs, are popular accessory for the home-based digital photographer. Epson's new pair of printers, the PictureMate 240 and PictureMate 280 are similar machines, but the more expensive 280 mo...

  • Prints quickly; print quality is good; a built-in CD burner makes backing up memory cards a breeze.
  • Pricey.
  • The Epson PictureMate Flash combines the great features of the PictureMate Snap with an added CD burner, but asks a hefty price. We dont think the burners worth the extra $100, so go with the PictureMate Snap and pack a few USB thumbdrives instead.

  • Top quality 4- by 6-inch output. Fast. Built-in combination CD-RW burner and DVD reader.
  • Relatively big and heavy.
  • The Epson PictureMate Flash not only churns out great-looking prints at fast speeds; it also can burn your photos to a CD and print an index sheet to go with it....

  • Superb, true-to-life colour reproduction, flattering skin tones, waterproof prints, incorporated CD drive
  • The biggest, heaviest and most expensive printer on test, blacks are too black meaning that shadow detail is lost

  • The inclusion of a CD writer pushes up the price, so if youre comfortable using a computer, you might be better off with one of Epson’s cheaper PictureMates. But for those who dont own (or wont use) a PC, it really does cut out the middle man, prov...
