  • Abstract:  Hundreds, if not thousands of great games have come out in the past fifteen years, but one that will always fall at the top of that list is BioShock, the classic FPS game set in the underwater city of Rapture. While to many it feels like the game didn't c...

  • Abstract:  Trick-or-treating: a time-honored tradition of showing up to strangers' houses and demanding candy. Of course when I do it as an adult, it's weird at best and trespassing at worst, but double standards aside, some of my fondest childhood memories are from...

  • Abstract:  After the success of the Netflix adaptation of The Witcher, and the upcoming productions of Last of Us and Cuphead shows, it seems that TV studios are looking more and more to the interactive medium for inspiration. Any attempts to make games work as movi...

  • Abstract:  The long awaited Bioshock has the distinct honor of being the first non-sports title to usher in the long awaited holiday gaming rush. As the spiritual successor to the System Shock series, Bioshock is a highly anticipated title because of its blend of in...

  • As of this review’s publish date, 2K is already in deep development of Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams, a direct sequel where a Big Sister will be introduced, and the “prototype” Big Daddy will be the main playable character. The game will also feature Mult...

  • Outstanding story, inventive gameplay, and amazing level of character customization, especially for a first-person shooter. Runs smoothly under both Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6. ESRB rating: Mature.
  • Some minor bugs remain. Disappointing frame rate in the final cut scene.
  • BioShock lives up to the hype and is one of the best first-person shooters available for the Mac. The game runs solidly on both Leopard and Snow Leopard, and multiple difficulty levels and customizability add to the replay value.BioShock...

  • Abstract:  For 10 hours I submerged myself into Andrew Ryan’s underwater dystopia of Rapture City. Does this hidden jewel have the game play to back up its looks? Would you kindly… read this review and find out.

  • Amazing setting under the sea, rich subtext, and outstanding character development.
  • Final battle seems misplaced. Game falters in final moments.

  • Abstract:  Of all the critics you are likely to encounter, gaming hacks tend to be the most prone to hyperbole. Bioshock, probably the most acclaimed game of the year, is a good example. Riding on such superlatives as ‘masterpiece’, ‘epic’, &...
