  • Abstract:  A few months ago AMD and Dice released a patch (and driver) which enabled the first real world example of Mantle. For those who haven't heard Mantle is a platform which replaces DirectX when using AMD cards, allowing game developers better access to the G...

  • Thief is a muddled but well-intentioned game that undermines smart, sinister stealth with weird controls and lousy characters. An atmospheric setting and plenty of freedom helps matters enormously, but all told it's a strange compromise of a game.Tags:Gam...

  • Excellent and comprehensive settings that can completely alter the way the game is played. Some truly impressive levels. Excellent lock picking mechanics. Generally faithful to Thief lore, with some welcome visits from old friends.
  • Too many loading screens. Poor AI. Lighting throughout the world is too extreme; either too bright, or too dark. Poor dialogue
  • With an open world to explore, top-notch AI and a third of the load screens then this would have been an excellent return for Thief . There is enough here to make it enjoyable but too many inconsistencies and errors to mean that you fall in love with th...

  • Tense, adult-oriented, story-driven, looks great
  • Unpolished, glitchy, lengthy loading times
  • Thief is an occasionally tense, sometimes frustrating, weirdly depressing slice of modern gaming. On the medium difficulty level all you're really doing is following instructions as the story unfolds around you. It is hugely customisable though, an...

  • Improved control mechanics, Interesting side quests, Missions can be replayed, Challenging stealth gameplay
  • No multiplayer mode, Long running load screens, Sluggish level designs, Incoherent storyline
  • With some minor graphical and audio glitches, Thief might feel bit odd and unwieldy at some stage, but at the end it is not that travesty you have plagued into your mind. Thief 2014 is a nice Stealth Game, which is fun to play and yes, but at the same tim...

  • I liked the Thief reboot a lot. This may not be 2014's The Last Of Us, but Thief definitely put forth some key gameplay lessons (like the 1999 original) to be adapted into future stealth games. The swoop option (Garrett's ability to quickly slide into a c
  • Thief had its moments, as well as its misfires. What's elementary bad in Thief is the fact that the mission navigation pointer really didn't help me much in a complexly designed level. Often it'd trust my pointer and end up against a wall or the butt of m
  • Thief makes a return with brilliant level design and depth of field, accompanied with immersive SFX, but Thief far from perfect due to the lack of an original story and average scripting.8Eidos Review Square Enix thief Thief vs Dishonored 2014-03-10Tatha...
