  • Abstract:  Okay hockey fans, forget your helmet, shoulder pads, and jock cup, because you're really going to need extra padding on you backside when EA's NHL 08 kicks your butt.EA's hockey games can sometimes leave fans confused as to what to expect. Some are more a...

  • Improved graphics; great online play; better skill stick; goalie mode; improved deke system.
  • Still a bit too action oriented; lacks total depth; difficulty settings too diverse.
  • A much improved game that harkens back to the old days, where hockey was a great console sport. Not perfect, but it seems that the competition with 2K Sports is bringing out the best in EA and there is hope on the horizon.

  • Abstract:  Its only been a few months since the Stanley Cup finals ended, but the hockey season is back already, meaning one thing - its time for another round of games developed by EA Sports and 2K Sports to go head-to-head.

  • Great AI; new coaching feature is a huge help; the skill stick rocks.
  • The online modes are fairly poor.
  • Theres nothing quite like your first time walking into an arena to watch an NHL game. Think of all the people wearing the jerseys of their favorite players, past and present, like Luc Robataille or Alexander Frolov. Hear the crowd roar as the home tea...

  • Abstract:  Last year’s NHL 07 offered up some pretty good gameplay thanks in part to some innovative skill stick controls. However, the game’s basic presentation and weak feature set brought it down a few pegs. For this year’s entry, EA Canada seri...

  • Abstract:  EAs NHL series is one of the most unstable and unpredictable sports franchises in gaming. Some years it attempts to hearken to its glory days of the mid-90s with more of an arcade flair, the kind of game you can enjoy with a few buds and a few beers....

  • Abstract:  EA reaches the top for the first time in years.I had an opposing player streaking down the boards with the puck. I lined him up for a big hit, but missed so badly that I took myself out of the play and he scored on a two-on-one break. When I first pop...
