  • Capacitive touchscreen, slick design, redesigned interface, excellent performance
  • Voice command is hit and miss, not notably faster at recalculating routes, no traffic capabilities, no Australian text-to-speech voice, MyTomTom software currently limited
  • The TomTom GO 1000 is one of the best-equipped GPS navigation devices on the market, making it ideal for those who use a sat nav every day. The user experience is slick, functional and very well designed. However, less frequent users will get better value...

  • Looks. Capacitive touchscreen. Spiffed up interface. Fast routing. Magnetic windscreen mount
  • Missing camera warnings. New MyTomTom PC software lacks most of TomTom Home's functionality. Voice recognition spotty at best. Glossy screen suffers from distracting daytime reflections

  • Abstract:  If you do a lot of driving like I do then you need a decent sat nav that will not only get you from A to B, but will make sure that you get to B before A has even realised you've left. The is just such a device. Although it's been available since the ...

  • Price, subscription cost for services kicks in
  • There’s no denying it : TomTom, Garmin, Mio and the rest’s low range dedicated satnavs feel increasingly irrelevant in the wake of free phone services, and even the company’s own apps for those platforms. But the TomTom Go Live 1000 isn’t for casual dri...
