  • In terms of video performance, the 42LH50 makes for an ironic case study. On the one hand, it is by far the most tweakable television I've ever tinkered with. Variable gamma, built-in color filters and test patterns, primary AND secondary color channe...

  • Above-average image quality, design, and usability; Netflix, Vudu, and YouTube support.
  • Full manual only on CD or online.
  • The LG 42LH50 is a competitively priced HDTV, and has little to dislike. Though this model may not sit at the very top of the heap for image and sound, it comes darn close, and it is among the leaders in design, features, and ease of use. ...

  • Four HDMI inputs. Builtin sensor automatically adjusts LCDs backlighting to suit the room. Tons of picturetweaking options. Cablemanagement loop in back. Netflix!
  • Disappointing black levels. 120Hz motion processing looks even more artificial than usual.

  • First TV with built-in Netflix streaming; well-implemented Yahoo Widgets engine; accurate color; extensive picture controls including unique Picture Wizard; solid connectivity with four HDMI and one PC input; energy efficient.
  • Relatively expensive; reproduces pretty light black levels; does not separate antiblur and anti-judder processing; fails to properly handle 1080p/24 content; below-average off-angle viewing; no S-Video input.
  • While the picture quality of the LG LH50 series wont appeal to videophiles, its Netflix streaming and oodles of other interactive features will win over plenty of folks fed up with external boxes.

  • Abstract:  The big key feature difference of the LH50 series LG with the LH55 is the LAN connection accessing the "Netcast Entertainment Access". This feature enables Netflix Instant Streaming video, Yahoo, and Utube content without having to feed through a compu...

  • Beautiful, bright 1080p picture, Numerous picture setting controls allowing highlycustomized images, Excellent builtin sound system, Direct access to Webbased content, including YouTube videos, movies from Netflix and Vudu, and content from Yahoo TV Widge...
  • Poor offangle viewing, as is typical with LCD TVs, Predefined video settings aren’t great, meaning viewers need to tinker with the set to get the best possible picture, Stand construction seems a little cheap, Setup, As with most flat screen TVs...

  • 200Hz mode, motion smoothing options, good colour control and vibrancy
  • Not the deepest blacks, 200Hz mode is artificially smooth
  • If you’re looking for a non-LED backlit LCD television that’s still chock-full of technology, LG’s 42LH50YD fits the bill nicely with 200Hz motion control and great picture quality. ...
