When in the mount, the G1 was solidly in place and did not move while driving. If I was able to get it to seat properly, the mount would charge the phone as well.
The connector rarely went easily into the phone. I would either redesign the mount to make it easier to slide the phone in and out, or go with a mount without an adapter and add my own.
