  • Clear interface and alert status. Reliably detects police when they're present and clocking drivers. Detects X, K, and Ka bands, and can also detect laser.
  • Short detection distances. Lots of false alarms, although you can fine-tune them over time with the app. User-reported, crowd-sourced alerts are hit or miss
  • Cobra's latest radar detector, the iRadar 200, offers a compelling companion smartphone app, but we still wish the unit itself had a longer range....

  • Compatible with Android devices, Still works perfectly when used independently
  • No real new functionality with the app
  • Now if you’re still sporting the iRadar 100 and using your iPhone with it, there’s no big reason to jump ship and pick up this new model – especially when the compatibility with Android devices is the only new feature found with the iRadar 200. Howeve...

  • The Cobra iRadar works with or without a connected Android or iOS smartphone. Its car charger has a powered USB port for the paired smartphone. A free app helps you fine-tune the iRadar's sensitivity and discern between actual alerts and false positives,
  • We still ran into a number of false positives during our testing, requiring quite a bit of interaction with the app for the first few days
  • The Cobra iRadar justifies its entry-level price as a good radar/laser detector. And when paired with a smartphone running the iRadar app, it becomes a much more flexible and useful speed management tool....
