  • Abstract:  JVCs Everio GZ-MC200 is one of the first hard disk-based digital media camcorders. Instead of recording to a video cassette it stores footage on a removable 4GB Hitachi Microdrive.

  • Abstract:  We were very impressed with the clarity and detail in our test shots, which were on a par with those produced by a DV camcorder. Its 2-megapixel lens also produced good still photos, but these aren equal to those taken by some digital cameras.

  • Abstract:  The GZ-MC200s automatic control settings are decently responsive. The zoom and focus make fairly fluid adjustments in different settings and magnifications. The automatic controls on the GZ-MC200 are fairly accurate and smooth. The camcorder has some ...

  • Abstract:  JVC heats up the competition in the consumer MPEG video camera market with this extremely compact model. Capable of recording MPEG-2 video, 2-megapixel JPEG stills, and audio-only files, the GZ-MC200 has an attractive swiveling-lens design and comes with a 4GB Microdrive for recording up to an hour of video at the highest-quality setting.

  • Menu navigation system, fast USB 2.0 support, excellent imaging.
  • Hard to hold because of no strap, only supports 4:3 mode, cost of extra MicroDrives.
  • The JVC GZ-MC200 is the second of the initial JVC Everio 4 Gb MicroDrive based camcorders, and is classified by JVC as a pro-style to differentiate it from the MC100 in terms of its marketing position. The bodies of the two differ, with a main diffe...

  • Abstract:  With the Everio GZ-MC200 camcorder, JVC takes an interesting approach to the problem of storing large amounts of high-quality video on digital media. Where some camcorders, such as Sonys DCRDVD201E, have renounced DV tape in favour of 8cm DVD discs, t...

  • Camera is easy to operate. Good movie quality.
  • Resolution limits amount of detail you can record. Movie mode a fiddle to work with. Still quality isnt up to scratch.
  • The MC200 can record an hour of high-quality DVD-standard MPEG2 footage on its solid-state memory, and shoot thousands of 2-megapixel stills ...

  • Incredibly small size; simple point-and-shoot functionality; image stabilisation; removable microdrive
  • Limited 60-minute record time on included 4GB microdrive; low-light performance could be better
  • Its largely thanks to the massive success of the iPod that microdrives have become so affordable. It was about time some great DV camcorders turned up with hard disks tucked away in their bellies, so we were pleased to find the JVC MC-200 is such a s...

  • Abstract:  It may look like just another rotating, tape-free camcorder, but JVCs Everio is actually an asteroid the size of Kentucky. When it hits the streets, we should witness an extinction event that has MiniDV dinosaurs keeling over left, right and centre....

  • Abstract:  L’Everio GZ-MC200 a troqué les cassettes contre des cartes mémoire. Simple à utiliser, il embarque une heure de vidéo de bonne qualité. Ce qui en fait une vraie alternative au caméscope DV.
